Tami Cline and Sharon Olson

Tami has over twenty years of experience in the foodservice industry. As a dietitian and former school foodservice director, she will add a personal connection to Y-Pulse participants dedicated to nutrition in schools.

Tami has hands-on experience with school foodservice programs, marketing and event planning through her experience with the Boston Public Schools, NATIONAL DAIRY COUNCIL(c), Schwan’s Food Service, School-Link Technologies and now Cline Consulting. Recently, Tami coordinated the speakers and program for the 15th International School Milk Conference held in Washington, D.C. in April. Since her departure in 1997 from the American School Food Service Association (ASFSA) as Director of Nutrition and Education, Tami has maintained strong relationships with their senior and executive staff.

Tami has always been a “people” person, and she has a real understanding of the importance of developing good relationships from her work with trade associations where she had to create a collaborative environment for many disparate interests to come together toward a common goal.

She has a PhD degree in Foodservice and Lodging Management from Iowa State University, a BS degree in Food Science and Nutrition from Colorado State University, and a MS degree in Nutrition and Communications from Boston University. She has earned key professional certifications: Registered Dietitian, Fellow of the American Dietetic Association and School Foodservice and Nutrition Specialist. She served on ASFSA’s Marketing Advisory Board and the Advisory Council of USDA’s National Food Service Management Institute.

Although Tami’s career has been devoted to promoting good nutrition and healthy environments, she hasn’t put aside an enthusiasm for adventure and an appetite for unique flavors across the map. She frequently travels to exotic locations to experience local culture, food and golf.
